Snap Privacy Notice
Effective Date: 30 September 2026 Last Updated: 30 September 2026
This notice covers DiscoverWorthy Snap, the phone app for making posts and designs, feeding ideas to Hype, and replying in comments and groups. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and adds to it. Everything in that policy still applies; where this notice is more specific about Snap, this notice governs.
1. What Snap collects, and why
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | Signing in | We email you a code to sign in. There are no passwords |
| Photos you take or choose | When you make a design or send Hype a photo | To lay out a design on your photo, or for Hype to write about it |
| Voice note text | When you record a voice note | Your phone turns speech into words; only the words are sent, never the recording |
| Notes and links you send | When you feed Hype | So Hype can use them in your posts |
| Designs | When you make or edit one | So you can finish them on the phone or at a desk |
| Posts and comments you share to Snap | When you share one to Hype | To write a reply or comment for you |
| A commenter's name and public headline | When the post's public page or your screenshot shows it | So the reply can speak to them |
| Groups you track, and when you posted | When you add a group or log a post | To remind you which groups have gone quiet |
| Push token, time zone, quiet hours | When you allow notifications | To send reminders, and not during your quiet hours |
What we do not collect: your location, your contacts, your files, or your browsing. There is no advertising identifier in Snap, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.
2. Sharing a post or comment to Snap
When you share a link, text or screenshot to Snap, we read it to write a reply:
- If you share a link, our server opens the public page (the same page anyone signed out would see) to read the post, the comment you picked, and who wrote it. We do not sign in to anyone's account to do this.
- The shared words go to our writing service to draft the reply. The draft is not saved on our side, and nothing is posted for you: you copy the reply and post it yourself.
3. What stays on your phone
- The back-and-forth memory. When you copy a reply, Snap remembers that exchange so the next reply can follow on. This lives only on your phone, is kept for 30 days, and can be cleared any time in Settings → Clear remembered conversations.
- Your sign-ins. The codes that keep you signed in are held in the phone's secure storage (the iOS Keychain, or Android's encrypted storage).
- The demo. "Try it" runs a made-up business entirely on the phone. It holds no sign-in and never contacts our servers.
4. What Snap asks permission for
- Camera, to photograph a job or product for a design. Snap uses the camera only when you tap to take a photo.
- Photos: choosing a photo uses the system picker, which shares only the photo you pick. Saving a design to Photos happens only when you ask.
- Microphone and speech recognition, only while you record a voice note. The words are worked out by your phone's speech service (Apple's or Google's, which may process the audio under their own privacy terms); Snap sends us the words, never the audio.
- Notifications, for reminders you can turn off, with quiet hours.
5. Photos and designs are shared the way you share them
Photos and designs you upload are stored so the design can be drawn and posted. Like any image you post online, a stored image is reachable by anyone who has its exact web address; the addresses are long and not guessable, and are not listed anywhere public. Do not use Snap for photos you would not post.
When you post a design or give it to Hype, it goes where you sent it: your connected pages, or the pool of material Hype uses for your business.
6. Who else sees it
Beyond the providers in our Privacy Policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure OpenAI (Australia East) | Writing replies, posts and design words; describing a photo | The words or photo being worked on. Not used to train models |
| Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivering notifications | A device token and the notification |
| Apple / Google speech recognition | Turning a voice note into words | The audio of the voice note, on your phone's system service |
| Apple App Store, Google Play | Distributing the app | Whatever the store collects; see their policies |
7. How long it is kept
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Designs and uploaded photos | Until you delete them, or your account closes |
| Notes, links and photos given to Hype | Until removed, or your account closes |
| Shared posts and comments | Not kept after the reply is written |
| Back-and-forth memory | On your phone only, up to 30 days, or until cleared |
| Push tokens | Until you sign out or the token stops working |
| Backups | Point-in-time backups are kept for 7 days |
Signing out of an account on the phone removes its sign-in and stops its notifications.
